How to Create a Category and include it on the Menu
Word-traveller Kathy Slamp from http://www.travelswithkathyslamp.com/ wanted to find out how to create a category and then have this category displayed on the menu of her website. Kathy visits Alaska regularly and she wanted to publish articles (Blogs) on the various Cities in Alaska. Kathy wanted to create a ‘Category’ for each City.

Go to your website’s Admin Area > hover over Posts > on the drop-down menu click ‘Categories’:
Let us now create a new Category for Fairbanks the 2nd largest city in Alaska. When the ‘categories’ page opens fill in the relevant details and click the ‘Add New Category’ button.
In the Admin Area of your website go to ‘Appearance’ > and on the drop down menu click ‘Menus’.
When the ‘Menus’ page opens> in the ‘Categories’ section click ‘View All’ > check the relevant box (in this case ‘Fairbanks’) > click the ‘Add to Menu’ button:
After clicking ‘Add to Menu’ button > on the right hand side of the ‘Menus’ page you will see the Category ‘Fairbanks’ at the bottom. Drag it up and drop the ‘Fairbanks’ Category into where you want it to show on the menu.
Remember to click the ‘Save Menu’ button.
View the Category ‘Fairbanks’ on the drop-down menu at front-end:
