How I Got a 90+ Score on Google PageSpeed Insights | Astra Theme and NitroPack Plugin

Intro

I increased my Google PageSpeed score from 74 to over 90. One of my websites was incredibly slow and on Google PageSpeed I wouldn’t get a score above 74 on both mobile and desktop. I now get over 90 both on mobile as well as on desktop. I did the following: I changed to the Astra theme and installed, activated and setup NitroPack.

You want to give users a good site experience. You want your website to load fast. Getting a high speed score or optimization score for your site is vital. It benefits your site users and gets your site ranked higher on Google.

A score of 90 or above is considered good, 50 to 90 is a score that needs improvement, and anything below 50 is considered poor.

Do PageSpeed Insights vary?

PageSpeed Insights do vary for reasons including server load, network variability, race conditions in your JavaScript causing the load order to change etc…

How did I increase the Speed Score (Optimization Score)?

I changed to Astra theme and I installed , activated and did the setting up of the NitroPack plugin. Astra is among the most popular and fastest-loading WordPress multipurpose themes. Note: Setting up the Astra theme is not very difficult but it is not particularly easy either. There are other reputable WordPress themes including Divi, Neve, OceanWP, etc. Make sure that the theme you choose gives you low page sizes and fast load times.
